The EVC Coaching Pathway

For many of our new EVC’s the processes and procedures surrounding school visits can feel a little daunting. We love delivering our EVC training, as we know it empowers our teams and gives them confidence, ensuring that every child in our schools gets the opportunity to experience high quality educational visits. For some, even this training can feel a little too much. For this reason, we have developed The EVC Coaching Pathway.

The EVC Coaching Pathway combines the formal EVC training certificate, with coaching and mentoring. This allows new EVC’s time and support to learn their role, ensure that they have consolidation time between the sessions and full support whilst implementing these strategies.

Each of these sessions will include guidance on implementation and review tasks, giving EVCs time and support to embed learning in their setting.

This mentor led development programme covers the core EVC training over three phases, gives a mentored route for brand new EVCs who currently have limited experience as a Visit Leader or EVC.

Note: This course does not replace the need for an Educational Visits Adviser and will not provide advice and guidance. If you are looking for standard EVC Training click here.

FAQs

  • The EVC Coaching Pathway gives new and inexperienced EVC’s a chance to reflect on their skills, focus on their development, all whilst having bitesize chunks to implement high quality policies and procedures in their educational setting.

This course is delivered over a three week period, so gives concise information, but the benefit of on-hand support from an experienced Educational Visit Adviser.

We have heard from some of our new EVC’s that whilst our Blended EVC course gives concise, relevant and informative strategies, for some it can feel like too much to implement after only one session. That’s why we’ve broken the course down and paired it with a dedicated mentor, that you can ask questions to throughout your time in the coaching cohort.

  • We know from experience that time out of school, organising cover as well as increased travel costs, makes in person training expensive and difficult to accommodate. This virtual training gives the best of all world - easy to access from anywhere within the UK and beyond, limited time out of school (reducing cover and travel costs) as well as plenty of easy access support via email.

  • No. The EVC Coaching Pathway covers everything (and more) from our Blended EVC training. As long as you attend all sessions and compete the pre-learning before each session, you’ll get your EVC Training certificate.

  • Any advice related to specific educational visits must be sought from your own educational visit adviser. On this course, we’ll encourage you to make contact with your adviser and to seek specific support from them whenever it is needed. This course will support you in strategies to embed effective visit policies from your own adviser, as well as useful templates and resources, based on National Guidance and good practice.

  • This course is run in partnership with EVOLVE Advice and can be booked directly through their portal for £245 + VAT. This includes access to our -elearning platform, certification and all materials.

If you’d like to book for your team of EVC’s, please contact our team to discuss options.
